The HSA 140 R is designed for annual pruning of hedges and reduction work, and features a low blade speed and a double-sided cutting blade with 38 mm wide tooth spacing to efficiently cut thicker twigs and branches precisely with a constant stroke rate. The speed of the hedge trimmer can be adjusted between 2,800, 3,000 or 3,200 rpm depending on the hedge you are working on.

The HSA 140 R battery-powered hedge trimmer is an extremely powerful and robust professional hedge trimmer that has been designed to take on the toughest, most demanding work a professional working in landscaping and garden maintenance may face.

A battery slot in the tool means you don’t need to wear a battery on your belt or back when using the HSA 140 R. The design of the hedge trimmer has been optimised to offer the best ergonomics for you. When using the recommended AP 200 S battery you will have perfect balance, making use over long periods of time more comfortable. The HSA 140 R is IPX4 rated for water resistance, meaning it can be used in all adverse weather conditions. A rotating handle on the tool means you can tackle hedges of all shapes and sizes from all types of angles – and you can best suit the hedge trimmer to the top or side of the hedge you are cutting.

The HSA 140 R has an anti-jamming function so if the cutters get stuck on thicker branches then the tool will help release the jam. When you release the trigger and then pull it again, the blades will move in the opposite direction. A new gearbox system on the HSA 140 R works in perfect harmony with the EC motor to deliver an extremely high cutting force and quick acceleration to the required blade speed.

With the recommended AP 200 S battery you can get 100-150 minutes working time on a single charge. If you need longer, you can use the AP 300 S or AP 500 S batteries to extend the working time but be aware that this will increase the overall weight and affect the balance of the hedge trimmer.

Cutting Variation: The R variations of the STIHL HS 82 and STIHL HS 87 are designed specifically for large volume cutting. They feature a cutting blade with wide tooth spacing and longer tooth height. The gearing allows a high cutting power at a medium stroke rate. The R variations provide the possibility of cutting thicker branches and completing clearing work faster.

Rotatable Multi Function Handle: The rotatable multi-function handle enables precise and comfortable cutting with your hedge trimmer, when working sideways and at head height. It can be rotated 90° to the left and right, and so is also suitable for left-handed and right-handed users. This means the tool is always in the most ergonomically effective position in your hand.

Double Sided Cutting Blade: The double-sided cutting blade facilitates optimum hedge cutting: vertically, horizontally and in corners. Thanks to the double-sided cutting blades, you can effectively trim or prune your hedge, as well as thicker branches.

Adjsutable Blade Stroke Rate: With the 3-level adjustable blade stroke rate, you can select the right blade speed for every task. You can easily adjust the hedge trimmer using the control cockpit on the rotatable multi-function handle. As the control cockpit rotates with the handle, the switch is always within easy reach, regardless of the handle position.

Blade Scabbard: Transport and store your hedge trimmer and shrub shears safely and securely with the tailor-made blade scabbard.

Tip Protector: The tip protector prevents damage to the blades. The tip protector also makes it easier to cut close to the ground or along walls.

Screw-on Cut Protection: The tool has an integrated carrying ring. This allows you to store your tool safely and compactly.

EC Motor: Thanks to its compact design, low weight and high efficiency, the EC motor enables you to work in an energy efficient manner. This engine also has a long service life.

Tool Monitoring with the Smart Connector: The tool is compatible with the Smart Connector, meaning it can be integrated into the STIHL connected system. Once you have attached a Smart Connector to the tool, after one-time commissioning it will record the tool’s operating hours and transmit them to the STIHL connected App via Bluetooth. In addition to displaying the operational time, the app also provides an overview of all necessary maintenance, ensuring that you do not overlook important upkeep and that your tool is always in a ready-to-use condition.

STIHL Anti-Vibration System: Vibrations can occur when you put your tools through their paces, and these are particularly noticeable in the grip area. The buffer and spring elements of the STIHL anti-vibration system reduce the transmission of engine vibrations to the handle area and therefore to your body.
