Four stroke engine
All Honda brush cutters have a four-stroke engine which runs on unleaded petrol so there is no need for the messy mixing of oil and petrol, making the machine more user friendly. Unlike most two stroke engines, this four-stroke engine has a separate oil sump so a top tip from our experts is to remember to check the oil levels of the machine after every use. The UMS425 is driven by a unique six-splined drive shaft in contrast to the traditional groove key design for added strength, with better torque and power delivery.
Anti-vibration

Simply press and hold the two tabs to release the cutting head, take out the spool, remove the remaining cord from the previous use and wind on the new cord. Starting procedure
The Honda UMS425 along with the entire range of Honda brush cutters are equipped with an easy start engine which is renowned for starting the first time every time.
- To start from cold, lock your throttle on, push the red start/stop button, then put the choke in the high position.
- A top tip from our experts is to then press the priming valve ten times to bring a sufficient amount of the out of the tank.
- The next step is to pull the recoil starter cord vigorously. After the engine has ticked over for about ten seconds, return the choke to the low position.
- Your machine is now ready to tackle the tough jobs.
Maneuverability
