Important Update: STIHL Distribution Changes in Ireland
STIHL Distribution Changes in Ireland
Effective 1st January 2027
From 1st January 2027, the STIHL Group will begin distributing its full range of chainsaws, garden machinery, accessories, and spare parts directly in Ireland.
This follows a planned transition by Origo Distribution Ltd., who have proudly represented and distributed the STIHL brand in Ireland for over 20 years. STIHL has confirmed that Origo will cease to be the exclusive distributor for Ireland at the end of 2026, as STIHL moves to a direct distribution model under the management of STIHL Great Britain.
What This Means for Irish Dealers and Customers
STIHL has stated that this transition will be carefully managed to ensure no disruption to customers, dealers, or the availability of STIHL products.
- ✅ No interruption to the supply of STIHL machinery, accessories, or spare parts.
- ✅ Currently all existing servicing STIHL dealers will continue to provide full warranty and after-sales support.
- ✅ STIHL will maintain a complete stock of genuine spare parts for both current and legacy machines.
- ✅ The familiar STIHL service and reliability that customers expect will remain unchanged.
This move is part of STIHL’s long-term strategy to strengthen its presence in the Irish market and streamline its operations in line with other European regions. The new structure will allow STIHL to work more directly with Irish dealers and further invest in local support, marketing, and logistics.
About Origo’s Contribution
For more than two decades, Origo has been the trusted and exclusive distributor of STIHL products in Ireland. Their commitment and professionalism helped establish STIHL as the market-leading garden and forestry machinery brand across the country.
STIHL and Origo will collaborate closely throughout 2026 to ensure a smooth and seamless handover, with continuity of stock, systems, and dealer relationships maintained at every step.
Service, Parts, and Product Availability
STIHL has reassured all customers that parts availability will not be affected. Genuine STIHL spare parts for all machines previously sold in Ireland will remain fully supported.
This means every servicing dealer across the country can continue to provide the repairs, servicing, and technical support that Irish STIHL users have come to rely on.
