Berg Trampoline Buyer's Guide

image0-41-jpeg.jpeg

Springtime is on the way and with brighter days on the horizons it seems droves of children all over Ireland are on a relentless mission to persuade their parents to buy a trampoline for their gardens.

Berg is the world’s leading manufacturer of trampolines as their superior quality and safety standards are unmatched, making Berg the industry standard. As a result, we can safely say a properly constructed Berg trampoline is just as safe as a bike ride or a trip to the playground. Well... the playground can sometimes be a more chaotic experience than anticipated!

As a parent you want your child to spend as much time as possible outdoors in the fresh air and away from screens. Your child can enjoy hours of fun in the safety of your own garden, giving you the freedom to carry out other tasks around the home while keeping a watchful eye.

If money cannot buy happiness, at least it can buy a trampoline... When did you ever see a sad child on a trampoline? NEVER!

Does trampolining keep children fit?

First things first, a trampoline is always a positive and beneficial addition to any garden. It is important to keep your little ones active and trampolining is the best cardio exercise a child can do to keep happy and healthy. Even children are affected by the stresses of today's world. Trampolining burns calories, trains a sense of balance and most importantly allows your child to blow off some steam without a care in the world.

With these health benefits considered how could you say no to a Berg trampoline.

Why choose a Berg trampoline?

As the industry standard, Berg hits that sweet spot between both a reasonable price and robust quality. These quality trampolines are made of excellent materials which provide better durability. This is important as your trampoline will be in your garden, exposed to the elements year-round.

Berg trampolines are built to last. The clever design and solid construction of the frame provides strength and durability as well as excellent bounce and heaps more fun for your children. The high-quality springs are covered with a skirting to keep any wondering toes completely safe at all times. In addition to this, the Berg safety net has a self-closing entrance so that no child will fall out.

What is the difference between classifications and models of Berg trampolines?

The Berg range is extensive and with so many options to choose from it is important to choose according to the space available in your garden. Things to consider may include the height, shape, quality, and size. Nevertheless, Berg has a safe, sturdy, and suitable trampoline for your garden and rest assured, we are here to help you find it.

Within the Berg range we stock the Berg Favorit, the Berg Champion, and the Berg Elite and these three classifications exist within the standard trampolines, inground trampolines and flat ground trampolines.

Standard trampolines are above ground trampolines which require a safety net and step ladder. These safety ladders are removable to make sure no little ones wonder onto the trampoline.

The Inground trampolines sit on the ground, at ground level, and there is a small four to six inch step up onto the trampoline. It will be required to dig a hole beneath the jump mat to allow clearance when jumping. The trampoline is NOT actually sunk into the ground. As these are still raised off the ground, they use a safety net which helps keep users safely on the trampoline.

Inground installation details here

The Flatground trampolines are placed below to surface of the ground with the jump mat surface then level with the lawn. These trampolines require a slightly deeper hole to be dug than the Inground. These trampolines do not use a safety net so they are easy to step on to while being at the safety of ground level.

Flatground installation details are similar to the Inground but the hole beneath needs to be deeper. If you need any help with this, please just get in touch.

Other, more obvious areas of difference are the size and shape of the trampoline and how this affects the overall experience.

What is the difference between the shapes of trampolines?

Berg offers trampolines in three different shapes such as round, oval, and rectangular. Each shape has distinct offerings.

The round trampoline is the classic choice for durability and safety. The complete circle offers stability in terms of evenly distributed and tensioned springs. As a result, the child’s jump will automatically be drawn to land towards the centre of the circle.

A more oval shaped trampoline will still provide all the stability of a circular shape; however, the surface area is wider and longer. The jump is also more controlled, and the larger surface area means there is less chance of two children bumping into each other.

Many customers view the rectangular shaped trampoline as the perfect fit to slot into a garden. As the trampoline is stretched out in shape this provides all the space necessary to practice tricks. This also allows for more users if you have a number of children.

What is the difference between the Favorit, Champion and Elite trampolines?

The key differences between the Favorit, Champion and Elite are the springs, the skirt padding, and the frame.

The Berg Favorit is an entry level trampoline which combines excellent quality and safety with performance at a great price.

Springs: The Berg Favorit uses goldspring solo springs which create an elastic and stable rebound. This allows your child to create higher jumps which are more fun and more importantly safer.

Skirt padding: The favorit has high quality padding which measures 380mm in width, is 20mm thick and tapers out to 10mm around the inner edges. This is considerably less padding the the more premium priced models, however, in comparison to other brands the Berg Favorit is still unbeatable.

Frame: This frame is extremely strong and steady. The thick and heavy structure makes the favorit robust and durable. Attention to detail can be seen in the well-designed welds while the galvanization will prevent any form of rust building on the metalscreenshot-2021-02-04-172711-2-png.png

The Berg Champion is a premium level trampoline for demanding user. The Champion has a softer, deeper bounce with features to ensure more power in the bounce.

Springs: The Champion uses double gold spring technology to create more advanced elasticity. This trampoline uses a larger number of long, thick, V shaped springs allowing for a larger size jump mat. With a larger jump area comes added safety. These springs also allow for an additional load.

Skirt padding: The Champion has high quality padding which measures 380mm width and is 20mm thick through to the inner edges. This is considerably thicker than the Favorit.

Frame: The Champion also uses Berg’s renowned engineering to create a strong, sturdy frame. This frame is thick and heavy with excellent weld joints with rust resistant galvanization.

The Berg Elite is designed to suit long and safe jumping.

Springs: Again, the Berg Elite uses the double gold spring technology to create more advanced elasticity.

Skirt padding: The Elite has high quality padding which measures 400mm width and is 30mm thick through to the inner edges. This padding has an extra flange on the inner edge to make sure the padding always lays flat to prevent gaps between the jumping mat and the padding.

Frame: The frame of the Elite uses a large diameter, thick walls and a solid zinc layer and have a protective black powder coat which is rust resistant.
